We have a winner!
We are extremely happy to announce the winner of our campaign is…drum roll please…Mark Davis. Mark is a huge cricket fan and is over the moon to have won.
We will be flying Mark and his son from Perth to Adelaide, putting them both up in the fantastic Holiday Inn Express and having and absolute blast on the 30th November with Mike Hussey and the team in the Fox Sports commentary box.
Thanks again for all those people who participated and helped support such a great cause, Women and Infants Research Foundation.
Here is what is up for grabs!
The day night Test Match in Adelaide is one of the highlights on the cricketing calendar. It combines watching the mighty Australian cricket team in the mix of a party atmosphere.
Saturday is the best day to be at the Test and you will be the envy of the whole crowd as you meet Mike Hussey at his hotel prior to play and then get a lift into the ground with him. You’ll have no issues with traffic and literally get dropped at the door of the Adelaide Oval.
Mr Cricket himself will escort you through security and you’ll see and visit sections of the ground that are not open to the public, as you make your way to the commentary box.
You and your friend will meet the Foxtel commentary team and then sit with the batting maestro during the first session of play as he and the team commentate, which will be a truly unique experience.
You’ll learn what happens prior to going on air and also get a taste of the incredible cricket knowledge Mike Hussey and the Fox sports team have.
After the first session, Cricket Australia will provide you with tickets to enjoy the rest of the days play, soak in the magic atmosphere and enjoy Test Match cricket… at night!
This will be a day that you can’t possibly forget. Once we throw in your flights and four star accommodation, it truly is the experience of a lifetime and the dream of all cricket fans.
You will be helping – Women and Infants Research Foundation
For more than four decades, the Women and Infants Research Foundation has attracted doctirs, researchers, leading health professionals, corporate supporters and volunteers, all united in their passion to improve health outcomes for women and infants. WIRF’s founding vision is to better understand the complex health problems faced by women and their babies and improve their prognosis.
WIRF focus our programs and research on the prevention of preterm birth, gynaecological cancers and women’s mental health. We are a world-leader in preventing preterm birth.
But what is preterm birth, why is it so important, and why should we as communities care about preventing it? Worldwide 15 million babies are born preterm each year and for one million of these, the day they are born is the day they die. Preterm birth is the single greatest cause of death and disability in children up to five years of age in the developed world.
Preventing early birth was thought to be an unachievable goal and that medicine could only begin at birth. However, what was once nothing more than a researcher’s dream, has now become a reality.
WIRF has led the world in discovering how a meaningful proportion of these preterm births can be prevented; effectively providing a proven roadmap for others to reduce the burdenof preterm birth in their own regions worldwide.
Mike and Hang With a Star are very proud to be helping support such an incredible charity carrying out important research that is helping women and children worldwide. Please get involved, make a contribution to support their work and be in with a chance to win this amazing prize.
